Norway has announced a major military aid package for Ukraine, pledging approximately $454 million specifically for artillery ammunition purchases. The Norwegian government made this announcement on Monday as Ukraine continues to defend against ongoing Russian aggression.

This substantial financial commitment from Oslo comes at a critical time, as Ukraine faces intensified Russian attacks across multiple regions. Recent Russian offensives have included ballistic missile launches and drone strikes, with over 40 unmanned aerial vehicles targeting Ukrainian territory overnight.

The Norwegian aid package focuses specifically on artillery ammunition, addressing one of Ukraine's key military needs as it maintains defensive operations and conducts strategic maneuvers along its borders. This support arrives as Ukrainian forces report an active presence in Russia's Belgorod region, where they have established positions near the village of Demidovka.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently confirmed military operations in both the Belgorod and Kursk regions of Russia, describing these actions as necessary measures to protect Ukraine's Kharkiv and Sumy regions from Russian attacks.

The timing of Norway's ammunition support is particularly relevant given the current intensity of combat. Russian forces continue to target Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, with recent attacks reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region causing damage to residential buildings and commercial structures.

This latest commitment from Norway represents one of the larger individual military aid packages from a European nation, reinforcing the international community's ongoing support for Ukraine's defensive efforts as the conflict passes its 1,140th day.
