Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that Norway has committed €2 billion ($2.1 billion) in military assistance to Ukraine for 2025. The announcement came during a meeting with Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram at a defense summit in Germany.
The Norwegian pledge is part of a broader international effort to support Ukraine's defense capabilities against Russian aggression. At the summit, multiple nations stepped forward with substantial aid packages, demonstrating continued backing for Ukraine's military needs.
The meeting took place at the US airbase in Ramstein, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed international partners, emphasizing the importance of sustained support. The gathering resulted in a total of $2 billion in additional support packages from various nations.
Other notable commitments included:
- A $500 million US package featuring air defense missiles and F-16 support equipment
- A $305 million Canadian assistance package
- A joint initiative by Britain, Latvia, and other European partners to supply 30,000 first-person view drones
