Germany delivers new military aid to Ukraine, including howitzers, Gepards
Germany has expanded its military support for Ukraine with a fresh delivery of heavy weapons and equipment, according to recent government announcements. The latest aid package includes additional PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers and Gepard anti-aircraft tanks.
The German Federal Government confirmed that Ukraine received three more PzH 2000 howitzers, bringing the total number of these advanced artillery systems provided by Germany to 21. The PzH 2000 is known for its high precision and ability to strike targets at long range.
Adding to the artillery support, Germany also delivered two more Gepard anti-aircraft tanks, strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities. These tracked vehicles, equipped with twin 35mm autocannons, are particularly effective against low-flying aircraft and drones.
The aid package also contains essential military equipment, including ammunition, spare parts, and specialized tools needed for maintaining the delivered weapons systems. German military experts continue providing training to Ukrainian forces on operating and servicing this equipment.
This delivery represents Germany's ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine's defense efforts. Since the beginning of the conflict, Germany has become one of the leading providers of military assistance to Ukraine, alongside other Western allies.
The German government maintains that these weapons deliveries align with their policy of helping Ukraine defend its territory while avoiding direct involvement in the conflict. Military analysts note that such advanced Western equipment plays a key role in Ukraine's defense strategy.
Ukrainian officials have expressed gratitude for the continued German support, emphasizing how these weapons systems enhance their military capabilities. The delivery timing coincides with Ukraine's efforts to strengthen its defensive positions across various fronts.
