Jagdtiger Tank Details

The Jagdtiger, officially designated as Panzerjäger Tiger Ausf. B, was a German tank destroyer from World War II. It was based on the chassis of the Tiger II tank and was the heaviest armored fighting vehicle used operationally during the war. The Jagdtiger was armed with a powerful 128 mm Pak 44 L/55 main gun, capable of defeating any Allied tank at long ranges.

Despite its formidable armament and armor, the Jagdtiger suffered from numerous mechanical and mobility issues, largely due to its immense weight. Only around 70 to 88 units were produced from 1944 to 1945. The Jagdtiger's operational history was marked by mechanical breakdowns, making it less effective in combat than its specifications would suggest.
