Jagdtiger Model Details

The Jagdtiger, officially designated as Panzerjäger Tiger Ausf. B, represents the zenith of German heavy tank destroyer design during World War II. It was built upon the chassis of the legendary Tiger II tank, combining a formidable 128mm Pak 44 L/55 main gun with exceptionally thick armor. The Jagdtiger's main role was to counter the increasing threat of Soviet armor, providing long-range anti-tank support to retreating German forces in the latter stages of the war.

Despite its impressive specifications, the Jagdtiger was plagued by mechanical and mobility issues, stemming from its massive weight and the overstretched resources of wartime Germany. Only around 70 units were produced, and their operational impact was limited. Today, the Jagdtiger is remembered as a symbol of the ultimate heavy tank destroyer, embodying the extremes of World War II armored vehicle design.
